// PROJECT NOTES // Preliminary design for a mixed-use development at the Mission Brewery campus that was hindered by a Coastal Commission height limit of 30 feet and a density that allowed for more units than could reasonably fit on the site, forced KMA to be creative in our unit mix and constructability. The “cluster” unit matrix, as it came to be know, offered a wide range of unit mix in a tight/compact package by using overlapping units all with separate ground-floor entrances, allowing for a 3-story walk-up condition that limited the need for elevators while increasing the number of units per acre. |
