// PROJECT NOTES // This project was conceived as a simple mass utilizing a multilayered exterior skin system with integrated solar screens. The shading device was designed in response to building orientation to optimize energy performance and provide a richly textured, multidimensional skin to define the building. The project involved an 11-story, mixed-use building consisting of ground-floor retail, six levels of above-grade parking, five levels of offices, and two levels of residential at the top. The site, at the corner of Wilshire and San Vicente Boulevards, anchors the west end of the Wilshire corridor and is an important and architecturally significant gateway to the City of Los Angeles. |
