Included in the contemporary design are apartments for the resident veterinarians and a surgical observation area, as well as regional cobalt treatment, large animal autopsy, and x-ray rooms. Special features of the structure are an interior landscaped and barrel-vaulted skylit exercise area for dogs, 74 custom modular designed dog runs, and roof solar collectors for space heaters and domestic hot water.
