// PROJECT NOTES // Aperture is an urban infill 11-story, for-sale residential tower in the Little Italy District of Downtown San Diego, CA. The project consists of 86 boutique residential units, including two floors of two-story penthouse units. Aperture consists of ground-floor residential and retail space over a 4-story, below-grade parking garage. The exterior façade consists of a ventilated wall system (rainscreen), which helps mitigate solar heat gain and reduce energy consumption. The exposed concrete, glass-and-steel palette was accented by exterior rainscreen panels and designer lighting. We venture to state that it may be the only residential tower in downtown San Diego without any plaster on it. |
