Riviera, for Ghods Builders of Toronto, is a 40 story mixed-use residential project to be located in the Cortez Hill district of downtown San Diego immediately adjacent to the downtown Core. The project contains approximately 840,000 gross square feet consisting of 419 residential units, street level retail and podium commercial spaces, and parking for 856 cars. The building massing responds to the height, bulk and scale characteristics of the adjacent downtown San Diego Core as well the Cortez Hill district in which it is located. Riviera’s elegant 40 story massing compliments Symphony Towers, Merrill Lynch, Vantage Pointe, and Comerica Buildings in the downtown core, as well as the new high-rise residential buildings on Cortez Hill. Materials will consist of a contemporary palette of enhanced materials at street and podium levels, with cast panelized cladding systems with punched windows and glass curtain wall systems for the tower.
