To maximize the building’s efficiency, designs include significant use of daylighting, increased through the use of light shelves to help bounce light deeper into the building. The building will also feature a state-of-the art underfloor air distribution system. In addition to reducing heating and cooling costs, the system increases comfort levels by allowing individual control over air flow at each work station. Plans also include the use of Rainscreen Technology, characterized by a terra cotta wall ventilation system to prevent problems associated with moisture entering the building.
In addition to architectural design, KMA is also providing mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering services for the project. The KMA project team consists of Jim Belmont, Don Blair, John Hilgeman, Billy Jennings, Scott Newton, Joyce Peabody and Neville Willsmore. Bob Davis, Laurie Davis, Mark Krencik and Matt Winter are representing Davis Davis Architects, and Deborah Elliott, Laura Keach, Tracy Morran, Amy Morway and Jill Russell are representing ID Studios.
