Axiom, designed for SRM Development of Spokane, WA, is proposed as a mid—rise mixed-use residential project with street level retail to be located on a partial block in the East Village district of downtown San Diego. The project contains approximately 264,000 gross square feet above grade and consists of 216 residential units, street level retail, and parking for 330 cars on three levels underground. The project includes 6,600 sf. of street level commercial/retail space with primary frontage on Market Street, wrapping the corners onto 13th and 14th Avenues.

 

The project is designed to respond to the eclectic height, massing, and design characteristics of the emerging East Village district in which it is located, and to integrate Axiom with to the adjacent 5-6 story affordable rental project being proposed by the same developer immediately to the south on the same block. Together the two projects will create a unified perimeter block configuration with open recreational spaces in the center.

 

Common open spaces are provided by a landscaped center courtyard at grade, as well as by a large and exciting roof garden/terrace, with clubhouse, on top of the east wing of the building (level 10). The roof garden has excellent southern exposure and will offer unobstructed views east towards the mountains, south towards Mexico and west towards the City with the bay beyond. BACK ยป
