CONSTURCTION COMPLETE ON LA MESA’S FIRST SAN DIEGO COUNTY CREDIT UNION
(SAN DIEGO, CA) October 16, 2007 — Construction is complete for a new San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU) branch, located at 8555 Fletcher Parkway in the Grossmont Trolley Center in La Mesa. KMA Architecture & Engineering (KMA) designed the new branch, which is SDCCU’s 25th location companywide and the first location in the City of La Mesa.
The new 4,000 square-foot SDCCU branch is located in what was Theatre 6 in the Center’s former Pacific Theatres, for which KMA served as the original architect. Designs included the leveling of the sloping floor, which previously housed theatre seats, to create a level floor composition. The finished project now features 15-foot vaulted ceilings, beautiful marble reception countertops and check writing stands and intricate porcelain tile floors with accent tiles while maintaining the architectural character of the original building.
