The center features two one-story restaurant and retail buildings on the former site of the Fornaca Family Bakery. The project’s appearance was inspired by the urban shops of the 1930s, which often featured tall facades, art-deco cornices, awnings and colorful storefronts on a pedestrian scale. The project site makes use of automobile access points on National Avenue as well as 28th and 29th Streets. Buildings on the site are placed for optimum orientation and site circulation. The project was carefully designed to address the community’s concerns for aesthetics, security, noise and traffic. Tenants will include Starbucks Coffee, Cingular Wireless and Subway. A third building on the site is in the planning stages. BACK »
