KMA Architecture & Engineering, in conjunction with Davis Davis Architects and ID Studios, has designs underway for a new 250,000 square foot headquarters facility for ResMed Corporation.

The first phase of the project consists of a six-story office building and five-levels of parking. When complete the building will also include an exercise facility and a full-service cafeteria. The development will include a central park featuring an intricate mix of hardscape and softscape landform treatments and topography. Elaborate landscaping will create outdoor meeting spaces for employee gatherings.

To maximize the building’s efficiency, designs include significant use of daylighting, increased through the use of light shelves to help bounce light deeper into the building. The building will also feature a state-of-the art underfloor air distribution system. In addition to reducing heating and cooling costs, the system increases comfort levels by allowing individual control over air flow at each work station. Plans also include the use of Rainscreen Technology, characterized by a terra cotta wall ventilation system to prevent problems associated with moisture entering the building. BACK »
