Located at 1353 North Magnolia, the one-story addition expands the existing office and file storage spaces. The new addition consists of four offices and includes an open work area, restrooms and break area. The existing offices were renovated and reconfigured to include disabled-accessible restrooms. On the building exterior, a new disabled-accessible entry ramp and building entry was provided. Site work included reconfiguration of the existing parking lot in order to comply with current off-street parking and setback requirements.
"Our team approached this project with sensitivity to the client's budget and the need for the building to have an identity as viewed from the street," said Tim Rubesh, principal of KMA Architecture & Engineering. "The building entry was played up with a brightly-colored projecting wall which helps to define its importance."
The KMA project team included Tim Rubesh and Ilia Voronchihin. Structural engineering services were provided by Burkett & Wong. Starrett Construction, Inc. was the general contractor, with mechanical and plumbing by DM Mechanical and Emery Mechanical Design. Electrical design-build was provided by Robinson Electric.
