General Monitors is a research and development/manufacturing building designed by KMA for General Monitors in Carlsbad. The concrete tilt-up, two-story building provides 50,000 square feet of space for the company, which manufactures fire- and gas-detection systems for ocean oil rigs and underground mines. The facility includes equipment test room (average temperature 120 degrees F), parts assembly, machine shop, storage, and distribution areas.
